These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the ShiftLink mobile application and platform, operated by ZumoGroup Ltd ("ShiftLink", "we", "us", "our"). By registering for or using ShiftLink, you agree to these Terms in full.
If you do not agree, please do not use ShiftLink.
1. About ShiftLink
ShiftLink is an online marketplace that connects self-employed workers ("Staff") with businesses seeking temporary or flexible labour ("Businesses"). ShiftLink is a technology platform only — we are not an employment agency, staffing agency, or employer. We do not employ Staff and we do not employ workers on behalf of Businesses.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use ShiftLink.
- Staff must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Businesses must be legally registered entities operating in the United Kingdom.
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
3. Self-Employed Status
Important: Staff on ShiftLink are self-employed independent contractors. ShiftLink does not create an employment relationship, worker relationship, or agency relationship between Staff and Businesses, or between Staff and ZumoGroup Ltd. Staff are solely responsible for their own tax, National Insurance contributions, and compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Staff must register as self-employed with HMRC if they have not already done so.
- Staff are responsible for declaring income earned through ShiftLink on their self-assessment tax return.
- ShiftLink does not withhold income tax or National Insurance on behalf of Staff.
- Businesses are not responsible for Staff's tax or NI obligations.
- ShiftLink's Staff Pro plan provides tools to help estimate tax obligations — these are for guidance only and do not constitute tax advice.
4. Platform Fee
ShiftLink charges a 5% platform fee on all shift payments processed through the platform, plus VAT on that fee at the prevailing rate (currently 20%). This fee is deducted from the total amount paid by the Business before Staff receive their payout.

- Business pays: £100.00
- ShiftLink fee (5%): £5.00
- VAT on fee (20%): £1.00
- Staff receives: £94.00
All payments are processed via Stripe. By using the payment features, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
5. Staff Payouts
- Staff are paid weekly every Monday for completed and confirmed shifts from the prior week.
- Staff must link a valid UK bank account via Stripe Connect to receive payouts.
- Payouts are processed in GBP only.
- ShiftLink is not liable for delays caused by Stripe, bank processing times, or incorrect bank details provided by Staff.
- Staff must complete Stripe's identity verification process to receive payouts.
6. Booking Terms
For Businesses
- By confirming a booking, Businesses agree to pay the agreed rate for all hours worked.
- Businesses must have a valid payment method saved before confirming bookings.
- Payment is triggered automatically upon shift completion and confirmation.
- Businesses must not directly pay Staff outside of the ShiftLink platform for ShiftLink-sourced shifts.
For Staff
- By accepting a booking, Staff commit to attending the shift as agreed.
- Staff must notify the Business and update ShiftLink as soon as possible if they cannot attend.
- Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in account suspension.
- Staff must complete the full agreed shift unless released early by the Business.
7. Cancellation Policy

ShiftLink reserves the right to amend the cancellation policy with 14 days' notice.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Provide false or misleading information on your profile or during registration.
- Circumvent the platform by arranging direct payments with Staff or Businesses you met through ShiftLink.
- Harass, discriminate against, or abuse other users.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the ShiftLink platform.
- Use ShiftLink for any unlawful purpose.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or bans.
9. Ratings & Reviews
After each completed shift, both Staff and Businesses may leave ratings and reviews. These must be honest and based on genuine experience. ShiftLink reserves the right to remove reviews that are abusive, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.
10. Subscriptions
- Business subscription plans (Growth, Pro) and the Staff Pro plan are billed monthly via Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Refunds for subscription fees are not provided for partial months.
- ShiftLink reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.
11. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and technology within ShiftLink is owned by or licensed to ZumoGroup Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- ShiftLink is a marketplace platform only and accepts no liability for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by Staff or Businesses.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.
- Our total liability to any user shall not exceed the total fees paid to ShiftLink in the 3 months prior to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@zumogroup.co.uk.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of ShiftLink after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
